Who am I?
Hi everyone and welcome to Artenfil.com!
My name is Víctor Bonet and I am an embroidery
designer and creator and this is my site which gives me the chance
to share with you my interest in the world of cross stitching.
Please allow me to explain briefly who I am and
what you may find on this site; what I do, what I feel and above
all what I want to share with you:
My journey started, well, nearly twenty years ago!
When I was only twelve years old I was fascinated by my two granny's
talent, both dressmakers, and moved by their commitment and for
the special qualities they had for handicrafts; I started by doing
a picture in half stitch (gobelin stitch) and after much hard work
I managed to get it finished. Once it was hanging on my wall I felt
something special. It was me who had made that picture! This helped
me to understand how important the feeling of personal satisfaction
of having achieved ones on self-imposed challenges is, and after
that one time, achieving another, and then another. I was moved
by the incredible desire of overcoming something, especially as
the following picture was twice as hard as the previous one and
moved for doing it off my own bat.
At the age of 20 I reached a professional level,
but this was not enough for me! I wanted to develop my own creations,
to develop those designs that I liked but could not find anywhere.
So I took things one step further and started to design cross stitch
patterns. I started to work with DMC and with 'Labores de Hogar'
with Alici Feijoo and Eulalia Ubach respectively. I worked closely
with both of them for many years and I believe we did a great job!
Today I have moved on further and I am now making
my own designs. Víctor Bonet - Art en Fil - a place where
I can show everyone my artistic achievements in designs, where people
can see that the through cross stitching one can make one's own
works of art and that it can be a fabulous way of developing ones
personal growth and creativity.
Finally I just want to add that if Víctor
Bonet - Art en Fil exists today, it is thanks to the following people
who have believed in me and that maybe without knowing it they have
participated in making all of this reality:
To those members of the public who at that time
trusted me to do their designs of that which they most loved and
from whom I have been able to discover moving stories behind each
design project.
To Alicia Feijoo and Eulalia Ubach for having employed
me in their companies and giving me the opportunity to learn how
cross stitching works from a publishing point of view and also for
giving me work even abroad, where I gained even more experience.
To Montse Palacio, with whom I have worked closely
for years, trying to realise new innovating projects and from whom
learnt many things in the world of cross stitching. I can also say
that she is one of my closest friends.
To my family and especially to my grannies, from
whom I have received a lot of advice of all kinds, and from whom
I still try to learn their talents and wisdom which only years of
experience can give.
And special thanks to Xavier, who has been more
than important in my life and to whom I thank for having been by
my side at all times; for having trusted in me constantly and for
having believed in my project, for never having doubted that this
would come about some day; and for having put together all the means
necessary for helping me to do what makes me happy.
Many thanks to all of them and all of you!!
